Scripture   Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8

Litany

L:    For everything there is a season, a time for every matter under heaven.

P:   A time to be born, a time to die.

L:    This morning, with your saints across generations we gather, Holy God.

P:   This morning we remember the cloud of witnesses, our loved ones who no longer are in the land of the living.

L:    We cherish their memory and have come to honor their past earthly witness.

P:   We invite the Holy Spirit into our midst as we worship, as we remember the past, as we hope in the future.

L:    Let us pray; Almighty God, we gather to worship you. We gather to remember our loved ones who have died, mourning their absence among us. Yet we celebrate your continuing presence, through the Holy Spirit, in our midst. And we remember your promise of eternal life. Grant us your peace in this hour of prayer and song. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
